All White Errr - Thang

Back in the day,  I would never be seen caught in white!  White tops, trousers dresses, skirts you name it. I am not the most skinniest of girls and I don't have the longest of legs, so I thought that it would enhance every lump and bump on my body causing me to look like a golf ball!

Enter, 2016! The year of taking risks, the year of not giving a DAMN and the year to appreciate and embrace everything life throws (to some extent) my way.

I have taken a few posh and professional pictures of an all white ensemble that has been of repeat a good number of  times this summer (bar the rainy days!).

I really love the off the shoulder trend, however some shoulders are elasticised, which for me is too restrictive and uncomfortable. The one I am wearing is from H&M and is a more 'cut out/open shoulder' design rather than off the shoulder. It's a bit see through and a tiny bit unflattering, but I just love the frill around the shoulders -  so chic and elegant. It is also available in pale blue, which I may have to pick up!

The white jeans are an old pair that have been sitting in my wardrobe from Warehouse last year, however there are a ton of white trousers on the market so you should be able to fit a good pair. These are comfortable and not too tight, which is important for a white pair of jeans.

Im loving the mule shoes trend. It was peeking around last summer, however I just didn't think to purchase any. I always thought that they would fall off my feet as I walk. These ones from Office are comfortable, chic, don't fall off my feet and are on offer at the moment.

I hope you all like the pictures. Let me know what you think.

Kat Von D Lock It Concealer

Light to medium coverage - did see a lot of A highly-pigmented, full-coverage, transfer- and water-resistant concealer.

Kat Von D has brought out the 'lock it' concealer, which is described as a highly pigmented, full coverage concealer - as well as being water-resistant. it is suppose to be so fully coverage that it will even cover tattoos.

I don't know about you, but when I think of a high coverage concealer, I automatically think thick and difficult to blend. However, this one has runny consistency and a thin texture and automatically thought to myself nope it won't give much coverage. I was right.  it gave a medium coverage.

The concealer is weightless on the skin, dries matter and lasts theatre day. However, I wasn't really blown over by the coverage. I found it to be prone to creasing if too much is applied, so I recommend setting it with a powder.

I mean don't get me wrong, its a lovely concealer, but no way did it cover my acne scarring and pigmentation that all us ethnic girls suffer from. So I don't see how it would cover tattoos.

It's a great one for on the go concealing. If you are in a rush or need to touch up. It blended really very and although it dries matter, it didn't look cakey (my favourite word!).

This concealer is oil and paraban-free, which is a major thumbs up in my books. It also comes in a nice compact hygienic tube, which is a double thumbs up!

Overall, its a good product, did it wow me? Nope. I would probably rate this as a 6.5/10.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer

Let us just get into this one. This concealer is THICK!! I am talking about difficult to squeeze out of the tube kinda thick! If you want a a full coverage, flawless finish concealer to colour correct and brighten then look no further than to Laura Mercier's High Coverage Concealer

The concealer is marketed as a high pigmented concealer with ingredients such as honey and vitamin E to protect against environmental damage as well as fruit acid to nourish and calm skin.

As mentioned above, this concealer is highly pigmented, so a little goes a really long way. It de-puff's, covers dark circles, brightens the under eyes area and provides all day coverage.

I have to admit that in the beginning I found this difficult to work with. The finish is amazing - literally a facelift for your face, however it was really time consuming to warm up the product with my fingers. Eventually I decided to  apply the product under my eyes and blend with a damp beauty blender, making the product easy to work with. the finish is perfect.

I mainly use this in the evening, when i have an event to attend. I have to set it with a translucent powder otherwise I will get slight creasing. It lasts the entire night - this is a really great one for an oily skin type.

There is a slight tendency to cling to dry patches, so I would suggest moisturising beforehand - however with a beauty blender this doesn't occur.

I have shade three, which has a peachy undertone, making it perfect to counteract any blue-ness underneath the eye as well as create brightness.

I have grown to love this product, I can see why some people may not like it, but its just a matter of working it to your liking.

Laura Mercier is queen of concealer. She has created many cult products are a staple in many make up bags!

Has anyone tried this concealer? I would love to know your thoughts.

Lots of love,

Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able foundation

I think my biggest weakness in the make up world is foundation. I love them. they really can transform a look - covers those silly spots, that pesky pigmentation and the ruthless redness. Once your base is perfected, you don't really need much make up anywhere else.

So, while in Dubai, I decided I wanted to try the Marc Jacobs 'remarkable' foundation.

The foundation is described as a lightweight, full coverage and oil free foundation that gives 24 hour wear. It is a highly concentrated formula so a little will go a VERY long way. The end result is a soft matte finish.

Since being marketed as a full coverage foundation, I was dreading the 'cake face' look, especially when it gathers around the nose (ewww), but there was non of this in sight. It sat perfectly on my combo/oily skin type. It blurs imperfections and give a flawless finish, but still remains slightly dewy as the day progresses. It lasted the entire day, without oxidising or looking to oily and still remained matte (ish!), dewy and fresh! I didn't touch up the entire day. It felt very lightweight, which I was really pleased with.

Too much of this foundation will lead the finish to separate and cake. I made this mistake the first time I had applied this. As usual I got ready for work in a rush and in the dark and applied too much. It did separate on me and it did look too cakey. The next day I applied very little and it was perfect!

The best application to use is a buffing brush. You have to work fast with this foundation, otherwise is will be difficult to blend. So, I recommend to apply and blend in sections.

This foundation will be perfect for combo oily skin types. Those with a normal to dry skin type will have to apply a rich moisturiser before application.

I matched up to shade honey medium, which is on point! The shade range is quite extensive, so there should be something for everyone. You can purchase this now at Harrods and Sephora.

Overall, I am really pleased with the foundation. Personally, I would wear this foundation for an evening event rather than to the office, but you do you! there are no rules!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita

Finally, while I was in Dubai I gave into the hype and purchased the infamous Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in LOLITA!! I don't think I have seen a product so hyped up in the blogger world, so I was praying to the make up Gods that this lipstick is worth every damn penny!

Lolita is described as a Rosy, Brown and Mauve shade  with a matte finish. I can see this colour complimenting a wide range of skin tones, however it may show up very differently on each.

I really like the packaging. A long, slim tube with a gothic floral design in black is stunning and unique! It definitely stands out from other make up brands!

Right, the verdict...

In the nicest possible way, and I hate saying this, but I felt really let down by the formula. It just wasn't as long lasting as I'd hoped it would be. The colour is superb! Comfortable to wear, easy and smooth to apply - I applied two coats to get the richest colour pigment, but it only lasted two hours before it began wearing away. I even wore it with a lip liner and still didn't last any longer.

The good thing is that you could reapply the lipstick without it looking too messy and flaky. So just for this reason as well as the fact that it is fantastic supermodel shade I will continue to use this.

There seems to be some mixed reviews about this product. What are your thoughts?
