By Terry Touche Veloutee

By Terry Touche Veloutee £35.00

By Terry Touche Veloutee is a concealor and highlighter in one. Created by Terry de Gunzberg (the clever clogs behind YSL Touche Eclat), this concealor has had rave reviews in the blog world, so I thought that I would jump on the band wagon and see what all the big fuss was about.

Yes! Everything good you hear about this product is true. Nothing has been exaggerated in the slightlest. I bought this a few months ago form Space NK and have fallen in love with it ever since.

I only pull out this 'big gun' out for night outs, purely because of the hefty price tag (£35.00-Eeeek!). It does everything I want a concealer to do. It covers my under eyes, without looking cakey. It conceals, correct, highlights and brightens all in one swipe (or two!) and is STILL able to look very natural. It is long lasting and doesn't crease. Perfect!

The texture and consistency is not that creamy. In fact, its quite thin actually. Compared to all my other concealers (Mac, Laura Mercier, Dior and Benefit) I would say that this is my absolute favourite.

I think she's a keeper!

Do you have the Touche Veloutee? What do you think?

Have a great day!

Douceur, Darling!

Nars Douceur £21.50

This interesting little blush was given to me as a birthday present recently. I actually cannot believe that I don't have a Nars blusher amongst my never ending stashes of blushers. I really don't know why, when I swatch at the counter, I have really loved the soft, buttery texture it gives. Hmm, interesting.

Well, I have one now! WOOP!

When I swatched this on my hand, I didn't know want to think. It didn’t really show up and looked rather bland. However, and i mean HOWEVER! When applied to the cheeks brownish/pink tones all came together to produce this subtle, silent sculpt. I swear it’s magic!

The Longevity is 'totes amaze'. I managed to get a good eight hours wear (I even went to the gym!), and if you're a lazy girl like me and cannot be bothered to top up your make-up during the day, you will find that this is a good thing.

It is a matte finish. This shade probably won't really show up on darker skin tones. It just about shows up on me. I, personally use it as a contour.

Nars - Douceur

Have a great day

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense- Roomiset Rose

Chubby Stick Intense in Roomiest Rose

Unless you have been living under a rock, the whole world and his wife is aware of the craze surrounding Clinique’s Chubby Sticks.

I have quite a few of these chunky crayon style bad boys, but the one that I have been reaching for the most is Roomiest Rose. It is the perfect transition colour from winter to spring (if spring ever arrives!).

I can only describe the colour as a deep, dusty pink, with a brown undertone.

It feels light, comfortable and really easy to apply (you could probably apply it with your eyes closed!). My Lips are left immediately moisturised with a glossy finish. The lasting power is amazing. I got a good five hours wear without a single budge.

The Chubby Stick comes in a sheer range and an intense range. I much prefer the Intense.

I got mine from John Lewis for £16.00

Roomiset Rose £16.00

Please excuse my pathetic attempt at trying to take pictures. I am trying to get to grips with my Canon E0S. It just doesnt come naturally to me. I am trying, so bear with me.

In the end I gave up and took the above 'heart' picture with my Samsung mobile phone.

Let me know what you think.

Hope you are having a great day!

Seche-Vite Fast Top Coat

I buckled. I got sucked in with all the hype surrounding the Seche-Vite Fast Top Coat and purchased it from Sally’s.
The Seche-Vite Fast Top Coat claims to be super-drying and gives your nails a glossy, salon like finish.

I was so excited to use this. Fast drying, glossy nails, what more could you want from a nail polish top coat, right?

This top coat is indeed super drying (within five minutes, wow!). The consistency is great and the brush is easy to work with. The finished result does leave your nails looking very glossy and shiny.

So far so good, BUT if there’s one thing I loathe, its chip nail varnish. It looks horrid. Some people like the chipped look, but I am not a fan. This top coat chips like no other. My nail polish didn’t even last 24 hours. Every time I would look down at my nails, I would find yet another new chip. Eventually, my nail varnish began to peel off in large amounts.
This product is perfect if you are in a rush, bored during your lunch hour or painting your nails just before bed as you won’t awaken to squashed imprinted nails. Also, if you change your nail polish very frequently, this would be good.

There has been an array of mixed reviews surrounding this top coat. I know that everyone’s nails respond differently to different polishes; however this product is a thumbs down for me.

Oh Seche-Vite, I had such high hopes...

Chipped nails after A DAY!!!

What are your thoughts on the Seche-Vite Fast Top Coat?

Rimmel’s Lasting Finish by Kate in Number 04

Rimmel's Lasting Finish Lipstick in No. 04

I thought that I would do a lipstick review today. I have been really enjoying exploring with colour especially since Kate Moss bought out her lipstick line with Rimmel. I think because of the price point, if you didn’t like this collection line then it wouldn’t be too regretful.
The colour that I have been reaching for the most out of the collection this month has been shade number 04. It is a deep purple, gothic like colour. I wasn’t quite sure of it at first; since I have dark hair I thought it may have been a tad intruding (it's a head turner, I'm serious!!!). However, as the day went on, it I began enjoying the colour.

I apply the colour with my Bobby Brown lip brush, starting from the middle of my lips, towards the outer part to create a base and an overall shape. I then apply again, this time straight from the bullet and just work the colour into my lips. Blot. Then reapply if needed. Blot again

With this lipstick, you have to make sure your lips have been buffed and exfoliated beforehand, since it does highlight any dryness.

This lipstick lasts around 4-5 hours. It has a fruity smell, which I am unsure as to whether I like or not. It soon disappears on application though.

This lipstick, as with most of Kate’s line is creamy. It feels as moisturising on the lips as it can be for the price point. I think it is worth the money and if you wanted to play around with colour, without breaking the bank this would be a great buy at £5.49.

They are available in Boots and Superdrug as well as online.

The picture above was taken from my Instagram. Please excuse the quality. I am in the process of getting a new camera.

Hope you are having a great day!

Warm Soul

Mac’s Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul is described as a mid toned beige with gold pearl. Once applied it gives a warm, peachy, bronzed luminous glow. It is very lightweight and sheer. I apply it lightly to the apples of my cheeks, using my Bobby Brown blush brush.

I would describe it as a natural, soft and subtle looking colour. It is buildable without looking too heavy.

Warm Soul is a versatile shade. I think that it will suit most skin tones and will go with most make-up looks. I have recently embarked on bold lips, and this colour goes perfectly, without being intrusive.

Do not let the shimmer put you off, because once it is applied it gives a warm, fresh glow instead of a line of glitter.

I absolutely adore this colour. All other blushers have been neglected until further notice (lol!).

Overall, I really recommend this blusher. At £19.00 it is expensive but I will get a lot of wear out of it. I just know it!

This blusher is out of stock online. I got mine from Selfridges here

Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer

The Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer is an oil based foundation that has been working wonders for covering the pigmentation left from a recent break out, as well as the redness.

It is a foundation and concealor in one. The colour pay off is perfect for my South Asian skin tone. It evens out my skin tone like a dream. It has a matte finish to begin with; however since it is an oil based foundation it gets dewier throughout the day.

The consistency and texture of the formula is very THICK. You only need smaller than a pea sized amount for your entire face, a little does indeed go a long way (literally!). I did the mistake of applying too much product once, and yes, I looked like a caked mess!

Please note that this is not a lazy girl’s foundation. You can’t just slap it on in the morning and achieve flawless face within seconds. It involves time, patience and care. I find that the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush is the best at applying this foundation. The density and grip of the brush catches the product and blends and buffs it to perfection.

Since I have a combination, this foundation did slide off slightly. I did have to powder five hours into wearing it. This would usually annoy me, but the colour match for my skin tone is so spot on (this is very rare), that I don’t mind.

Apart from when my skin is full of spots and scarring, I don’t tend to wear this product for everyday use as it has a super thick formulation. I usually only wear it on nights out, since it has no SPF and thus I will not have to fear the dreaded ‘ghost face’ from flash back photography.

I suggest double cleansing when it comes to removing this foundation, since the product is quite thick, I find that one cleanse is not enough in removing all of the product.

I believe that this product would be best suited for drier skin types. For the oilier girls out there, I would suggest powdering and wearing a primer. I use Mac prep and prime skin refined zone treatment on my t-zone, which is amazing at keeping the excess oil at bay and makes me reach for my powder less.

The Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer has a superb colour range for all skin tones. At £35.00 you get 18g of product, which at first sounds like a measly amount, but I promise you it will last forever.

I don’t think that everyone will like this foundation. The formulation is really thick and some may find it a little too cakey and too much effort to apply. I have read many mixed reviews. Overall, I just like it. I don’t love it.

The Sensual Skin Enhancer is available at SpaceNK here
