Nars All Day Weightless Foundation Review

It’s been a while since I have really found a foundation that I have really liked. Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (and BREATHE!) is a keeper. I have been testing it out over the past month and can finally say YES, PEOPLE! THIS IS THE ONE! (well for me, at least).
The coverage is medium to full. One pump is enough for the entire face and will give a medium finish, but also buildable for a fuller coverage. It dries to a demi-matte finish and the texture of the formula once applied to the skin is smooth and weightless. It evens out skins tone and pigmentation, while STILL looking like skin.
Nars claims that this foundation has a 16 hour wear time – err no, let’s address. I would say it has an 8 hour wear time, definitely not 16 hours. Although, eight hours is still good for me and believe me, that’s a long time with my oily, acne prone skin *sigh*.
This foundation wears beautifully throughout the day. It doesn’t oxidize and leaves a lovely radiant ‘glow’ to the face and not the other type of glow where I look like a deep fat fryer by the end of the working day.
It would work really well for oily/combo skin type, however if you have dry skin, it may not work quite as well.
The colour range is fabulous, with around 40 shades. What Nars does really well is that they cater to individuals with yellow/olive undertones. I was colour matched to Vallauris and no exaggeration it matches me perfectly. I think even if it was an average foundation, I would probably still love it due to the colour match being so spot on –THE STRUGGLE IS TOO REAL!
Overall, I highly recommend this foundation. I am really fussy with foundations – due to the fear of looking cakey.  The shades range is very good, looks like skin, long wear time, wears away beautifully and does not oxidize. However, it maybe best suited to those with an oily skin type, rather than dry skin type.
The cost of this foundation is £32.00 and well worth every penny!
Have you tried this foundation? What do you think?

Chanel Tan De Soleil

I thought that I would talk about a bronzer that I seem to reach for all the time. It's the ever so popular Chanel Tan De Soleil.

Perfect for the summer months, it's a cream based formula, which blends in seamlessly. It can be used under foundation, as an all over bronzer or as a contour ( I think it is far too orange for as a contour!).

It is perfect for those that feel intimidated by bronzer, since the overall look is a very light sun kissed, healthy glow.

The texture is smooth and velvety. The colour is buildable, however a light hand is needed when applying as it can look too orange. I apply mine with a dual fibre brush, that way I have control as to how much goes on.

It can be used with a brush or with fingertips and then blended into the skin. I use both ways, but ultimately prefer a brush.

I would recommend this bronzer for fair to medium skin tones. Anyone  with a darker complexion, it may or may not show up.

The bronzing base can be used alone or layered with other powders. I like to use it as both. I set mine with a powder bronzer, namely the Bobby Brown bronzer in Golden Light 1.

At £30.00, it is a bit pricey, but you get a really generous amount, I have had mine for so long and use it so religiously and still haven't reached the end.

I purchased mine from John Lewis

Skincare: Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel

I have been looking for a new cleanser for a while, and everytime I used to pop into Space NK I was always drawn to the OSKIA brand, namely their Renaissance Cleansing Gel. It has absolutely no nasties and is full of vitamins and minerals, which are beneficial to skin.

This cleanser has a gel like consistency and texturises into an oil once warmed between your palms and massaged onto your face. Wash off with a damp cloth or warm water and it will leave skin feeling soft a supple, without the dreaded tightness or residue.

Ingredients:

Pumpkin Enzymes: Helps remove dead skin cells, thus offering mild exfoliation without irritation

Vitamin A: improves skin elasticity

Vitamin C and E: Helps with environmental and free radical damage

Omega 6 (Starflower oil): Hydrates and moisturizer skin

MSM or Dimethyl Sulfone (a signature throughout the entire Oskia range): Reduces inflammation, soothes and detoxifies the skin.

This stuff is literally a facial in a bottle. It brightens and plumps the skin without feeling tight. It can be used morning and evening and removes make-up. Personally, I use a micellar water for make up removal. This gel it too luxurious, nourishing and expensive to remove my cheap gel eyeliner!

It will be great for all skin types. Two Thumbs up from me!!

I purchased mine from Space NK here for £28.00.
