Essie - Bobbing for Babbles

Right,  Summer is coming to an end. Autumn is around the corner. Lets start thinking about nails! The easiest and cheapest way to transition to the colder months, while still remaining stylish is through changing the colour of your nails. Yes, I know first world problems, eh? *hangs head in shame* but somebody needs to do it!

Everyone that knows me, knows that I love a dark nail. I feel it just suits my skin tone the best compared to any other colour.  Even throughout the summer I will always come back to my trusted deep toned purple, namely Orly's nail polish in 'naughty'.

This time I wanted to branch out. Get out of my comfort zone. You know what they say 'life begins outside of your comfort zone'. HA!

So, after standing in front of the Essie stand in Boots for around 25minutes, I finally decided to purchase Essie 'Bobbing for Babbles' - a deep, inky, sapphire colour, which to be honest looks many colours. In one light it looks a greyish blue tone and in another light it looked a deep aqua green. However, from afar, it really just looks black (LOL) - so I guess you could say that I REALLY pushed the boat out!

Nevertheless, I love the Essie polishes, I have so many colours.  This colour is long - lasting and opaque with one coat - Perfect for the winter months and offers something different to your usual deep, red, burgundy colour that many (including myself) typically tend to gear towards.

I purchased mine from Boots.

P.S Why is my hand in the picture scaring me? EEEEK.

Lots of Love,

The perfect 90's nude!

Inglot Matte Lipstick 405

I wanted that brown- toned, earthy nude that complimented my skin toned without looking too ‘Naomi Campbell’ in the 90’s.
Inglot’s matte lipstick in 405 is a brown toned nude with a deep pink undertone, making it perfect for medium to dark skin tones. The formula is very matte, pigmented and long lasting (around 6 hours on my lips).
You have to ensure the lips are very well hydrated, otherwise application can be tricky. Any lip balm will do the trick.

You will also need some elbow grease into apply this – It applies well via the bullet, however I found it better applying it with a brush. Once applied, it looks matte, creamy and comfortable to wear. It also slightly plumps the lip, which is a bonus!

The packaging is great – black, shiny, simple and chic with the Inglot logo in white printed on the side.

It’s a great lipstick to have in your make up bag as it will go with most make -up looks – It also is a good one to wear in an office environment.

The matte lipsticks are priced at £13.00

Inglot full metal Lip liner in 853

So I also decided, what the heck let me pick up the matching lip liner also! This lip liner the exact shade at the 405 lipstick, just slightly less pink and more brown, which balances with the lipstick perfectly! It is a two-sided, retractable ‘pen’, with a lip liner on one side and a lip brush on the other.  The lip brush is pretty decent, however mine has gone all grubby now, since losing the lid!It can be worn alone or underneath a lipstick.

On application the lip liner is very comfortable to wear and apply. It is Highly pigmented and last a good few hours (7hours).

As with the lipstick packaging, it is very chic and minimal, which I like very much.

The retail cost of this is £11.00

Mac Mehr and Soar

Mac Mehr lipstick is deep rosy brown toned pink. It is what I like to call a ‘grown up, elegant pink’. It is a matte (not drying!) finish, easy to glide on, long lasting and very comfortable to wear.
This shade of lipstick would be flattering for many skin colours.  It is the perfect lipstick to have in your bag as it would go with many make up looks and not look too ‘barbie’.

The perfect lip liner to compliment this lipstick is Mac’s Soar lip liner. Paired together, Soar gives Mehr that extra pump for the lips. Lips are left feeling soft, supple and sexaayyyy, HAAYY!
Soar is a mid-tone rosy brown.  This shade of lip liner is very versatile. I like to pair it with other lipsticks, such as Mac’s Taupe and Velvet Teddy.

If there is any lipstick that I would recommend to run out an purchase this year, it would be Mehr and Soar. They are both so versatile and long lasting and give an elegant touch to the lips.

Lots of Love,
