Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil in Amber Haze

So after being so impressed with Charlotte's magic foundation, I decided to have a bit of nosey around what else tickled my face.

I decided to pick up the Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil in Amber Haze

Amber Haze  is a deep amber bronze shimmery eyeshadow pencil with a creamy texture. Its a very rich and pigment colour, which applies very softly and does not pull or tug at your eyes. It sets very quickly, so blending is time limited to around 30 seconds.
On application, it sets very quickly, so blending time is limited to around 15-20 seconds. Personally, my preferred method of blending is with a fluffy eyeshadow brush (mac 217) rather than fingers otherwise it can get quite difficult to blend and begin to look patchy and messy.

I have been wearing this colour on its own during the day. Even though it has been marketed as a product for the evening, for me I prefer to wear it as a daytime, effortless smokey eye. It compliments my brown eyes perfectly. I am always in a rush in the mornings and this has been the perfect and effortless go to pencil. The colour is buildable and the more layers applied, the more intense it becomes.

The lasting power is a solid 8 hours. It looks just as good at the end of the day as it did at the beginning. However, it will begin to crease if a primer is not applied first - depends on how oily your eyelids are.

I have read a lot of mixed review regarding the colour chameleons, however I am really enjoying my one. I love the easy and quick application, as well as the longevity and the fact that I only need this one product to create a smokey eye.

The only issue I have is that you have to purchase a Charlotte Tilbury sharpener to sharpen the damn thing, which is annoying. I wouldn't dare use another sharpener - i will probably butcher it!

Have you tried any colours?

I hope you are all well!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvets

Probably the only drugstore makeup that excites me is Bourjois, I really like a lot of their make-up, especially the nail polishes. Such good quality!

Another product I also love are the Rouge Velvets which are liquid matte lipsticks . I have 'ole Flamingo and love it, so when i found out that Bourjois have new colours I ran to boots. literally, I was on my way to the gym and decided to jog there. Boots is on my way to the gym - so a light jog happened.

The shade I picked up is 'Plum Plum Girl', which is a plum shade, (you think?).

It's a great shade for the autumn/winter months and also different from the usual oxblood shades that become very popular around this time of year.

Plum Plum Girl glides on like a lipgloss, however dries to a velvet, matte lipstick. It will last around 6-8 before reapplication. A few coats need to be applied for the colour to reach its full intensity. I apply one coat onto my lips, then blot with a tissue and then reapply. It is a bit time consuming, but most dark colours are - you need precision.

I would recommend prepping lips beforehand - exfoliation and hydration is needed, otherwise the product will crack and cling onto any dry patches over the course of the day, which we all no is not pretty! It's only comfortable to wear if your lips are hydrated.

The overall colour pay off is lovely - but as mentioned above, a few coats are needed to get the most out of this colour.

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

Charlotte Tilbury's powerful marketing campaign is everywhere. She has now opened in John Lewis, Oxford Circus, and since I spend half my life in there, naturally I was going to indulge.

I've heard so many rave reviews about this foundation, but is it really worth the hype?

After road testing for a week, I can safely say that it is so worth it, babes!

The foundation is a medium to full coverage . It has a creamy consistency and feels very weightless on the skin. It has a demi-matte finish, which I personally love in a foundation as I am not keen on a matte finish, even with my oily skin. It gives a radiant finish to the skin and evened out the uneven due to previous, pesky acne!

The wear time on my skin was well into 10 hours. Yes, bold statement, but oh so TRUE! As the day went on, i didn't see any signs of cakeyness around my nose or any dry patches around my mouth. My skin felt hydrated and comfortable the entire day.

This foundation is easy to apply and best applied with fingers, and maybe/sometimes with a brush just to make sure it is 'extra' blended.  It feels as though you are applying a day cream, it is that easy to work with!

The surprising thing about this foundation is that I didn't have to powder. I felt like I didn't need to. I had enough of a demi-matte finish, which I was happy with. I had just blotted once throughout the day and that was it. Very impressive, indeed!

Personally, I would use this and for everyday- not evening.

I was matched to shade 7 and it is the perfect match.

What do you think?

Too Faced 'Better than sex' mascara

I've never tried anything from Too-Faced make-up. It's never really been a brand that I have geared towards. However the 'Better than Sex' mascara, (OH MY! how raunchy) is a mascara that has been everywhere, so since I am on the search for a few mascara's, I decided to give this a go!

This mascara is intensely black, adds volume and length, without clumping. The right amount of product gets released onto the brush. The more you coat onto your lashes it doesn't clumps the lashes, as is the case with other mascaras I have previously owned. The formulation is neither too wet nor too dry. It dries quickly and doesn't smudge, flake or run down your face - so no panda eyes with this mascara! It is extremely comfortable to wear and the longevity is around 6 hours.

The brush is shaped like an hourglass, apparently inspired by the shape of a woman's body. Personally, I think the wand is too big, so smaller eyes may have tough ride. The packaging is metal and quite heavy and bulky.

Overall, the mascara is pretty impressive. I really like the volume it give, and the best thing is that it doesn't flake.

Has anyone tried this mascara yet? What do you think?
