Make Up Of The Day

Instead of writing a review, I thought that I would change things up and do a make up of the day post. It's always nice to see how make up looks on other people.  I personally like reading this type of post so I thought that I would do one myself.

My make up of choice is usually a wearable, lived in, effortless smokey eyes.  Its the type that you can wear during a day and go and into the evening. It takes around 30 minutes (the blending takes the most time). The key to making it last so long is to use long lasting products, so you don't worry about having to touch up all the time.

By Terry Ombre Black Star in Mysty Rock

This ones kills me. I paid £29 pounds for a DAMN EYESHADOW STICK! A CRAYON! You can be sure that this product is handled with care at every use - I even refuse to throw way the box!

Ok, rant and anxiety over I picked up the By Terry Ombre Blackstar, because to be honest I buckled under the blogger pressure. The only thing I have tried from her collection is the concealer, which i enjoyed very much!

There are quite a few colours to pick to choose from and in the end I decided on Mysty Rock, Mainly due to the fact that it's a colour that I'm not familiar with in my make-up stash!

Mysty Rock is a purple toned eyeshadow stick with pink/taupe undertones along with flecks of silver.

The formula is creamy and easy to apply. It blends really well, with minimum effort, which is difficult to find in an eyeshadow stick as some are dry and tug at the eyes.

It can be worn on its own or as a base for eye shadows. Once it has set its not going anywhere - with or without  primer. The lasting power is around 10 hours, without any creasing. The overall finish is  shiny/metallic, but definitely not cheap looking. I found this particular colour to be a multi dimensional shade, as in it looks very different in certain lights - sometimes pink, lavender/purple, silver or taupe. You could wear it on its own, like my pictures or you could smoke it out in the crease with a slightly darker shade - both equally as beautiful.

I personally would wear this shade in the evening, with a bit more of a crease colour.  It does brighten and compliment my brown eyes, however the glitter was too much for me to wear during the day. I felt a bit conscious the entire day.

The best thing about this stick is that there is no need for a sharpener. It's a twist up eyeshadow stick, which is so good for people like me that are always rushing around and for the overall 'can't be bothered' personalities (me, included!).

Have you tried any shades?
